In short. The photographs, videos and thoughts you peg to the line stay in your iPhone’s storage. Appesi has no accounts, no server to send them to, and collects no statistics about how you use the app. Only two things ever leave the phone: the coordinates of a memory, to look up the name of the place, and the information needed to verify a Premium subscription.
1. Who processes the data
The data controller is Gurini Pier Giacomo, developer of the Appesi application.

2. Your memories
Every photograph, video, thought, caption and styling choice is saved on the device only, in the app’s own storage area: the descriptive data in a local database, the images and films in the app’s internal folders.
This content is never uploaded to any server, is not accessible to the developer, is not shared with third parties and is not used to train systems of any kind. If you delete the app, this content is removed from the device along with it.
If you have Apple’s device backup switched on, the app’s data may be included in that backup: this is an operating system feature, handled by Apple under its own policy, not an Appesi service. Monthly films are deliberately excluded from the system backup, because they can be rebuilt and would only take up space.
3. The permissions the app may ask for
Appesi asks for a permission only at the moment it is needed for a feature you have chosen to use, and keeps working if you refuse: that feature simply won’t be available. You can review or withdraw any permission at any time in Settings › Appesi on your iPhone, or from the Permissions screen inside the app.

4. The name of the place
When a memory carries coordinates, Appesi sends those coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service to turn them into a readable name — the village and the municipality, not the street. It is the only network request tied to your content, it happens once per memory, and the answer is then stored on the device with the memory itself.
The name is shortened before being saved: the parts containing house numbers are discarded, and at most two elements remain, typically the hamlet and the municipality. The request carries no name of yours, no app identifier and none of the memory’s content. Apple’s handling of it is governed by the Apple privacy policy.
If you would rather this did not happen, simply don’t grant the location permission and use photographs that carry no location data.
5. Purchases
The Premium subscription is sold and collected by Apple through the App Store. Appesi never sees or receives your card details, your name or your billing address.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app relies on RevenueCat, Inc., acting as data processor. RevenueCat receives an automatically generated user identifier (not linked to your name or your Apple Account) and the transaction information needed to verify the subscription: product purchased, purchase, renewal and expiry dates, App Store country, along with technical data about the device and the app version.
Photographs, videos, thoughts and captions are never sent to RevenueCat, or to anyone else. The legal basis for this processing is performance of the contract: without it, a paid subscription could not be recognised. RevenueCat’s policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
The free trial months are recorded on your device alone, in the local keychain: they are not sent to any server and are not tied to an account.
6. What Appesi does not do
- There is no analytics, behavioural analysis or usage measurement of any kind.
- There is no advertising and there are no third-party advertising tools.
- There is no tracking under Apple’s transparency rules: the app formally declares that it does not track, and never asks for permission to, because it has no need.
- No personal data is sold, transferred or shared with anyone.
7. How long data is kept
Memories stay on the device until you delete them, individually or with Delete all data in the app’s settings, or until you uninstall Appesi. There is no automatic deletion.
Purchase data is retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies, for as long as needed to manage subscriptions and meet accounting obligations.
8. Your rights
Because the diary’s contents never leave the device, you hold them directly: you can read, edit, export and delete them at any time, without asking anyone.
For data processed in connection with purchases you may exercise the rights granted by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — by writing to jeck.dev820@gmail.com. Identifying the data relating to you may require the anonymous user identifier, which you will find on the app’s Premium screen. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
9. Transfers outside the European Union
RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States. Transfers of purchase-related data rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, as set out in that service’s terms.
10. Children
Appesi is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under fourteen. Buying the subscription is subject to App Store rules and to the parental controls set on the device.
11. This website
The appesi.app site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses no cookies, has no analytics and collects no data about its visitors. As with any website, the infrastructure provider briefly logs technical connection data (IP address, browser type) for security and network operation.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date, and the change will be flagged inside the app.
